Most people in this area inwardly cringe when they hear the name Katrina, often associating it with the devastating hurricane of 2005. For me, this name makes my heart sing as it is the name of our yacht while we are in the Caribbean.
Katrina is a fifty foot catamaran that comfortably sleeps eight people. Louie and Marguery Martina are the Captain and first mate and the rest of us just try to be helpful and not hinder our Captain in any way! She was reserved a year in advance and each of us had to take a sailing/refresher course before this trip. We also rented a similar vessel earlier this year in San Diego to familiarize ourselves with these types of yachts. It is a luxurious boat and not a moment goes by that I do not appreciate how blessed we are to be upon it.
We plotted a course that would take us through the British Virgin Islands in the Caribbean Sea. We will start in Tortola and then head to Norman Island, Peter Island, Cooper Island, Scrub Island, Virgin Gorda, Anageda, and then to Jost Van Dyke. We will spend a few days in Tortola when we are finished to catch our breath before heading home. Yes, it is luxurious indeed.
We have selected the perfect time to sail in this area. The weather is warm, the seas are calm, and there are not a lot of people sailing in this area. We seem to have the perfect combination in all aspects.
WiFi is sketchy but I will try to let you know where we are as we go! You are loved…
Love you both so much…prayers for beautiful, safe seas 💙✨
