After Sun Valley we were to meet our friends in Jerome, Idaho. Each of us traveling had some RV business to attend to and we decided to get ours done in Twin Falls. We connected with our repair guy and then decided to stay in town until we met up with our friends. We were looking for a place to stay “on a river” but didn’t have much hope in this mid-size city. Our App told us about a place called Rock Creek RV Park so we decided to check it out. Imagine our surprise as it took us to the industrial area of town. Here we were directed to turn right and head down a long and winding road. At the bottom were the most beautiful trees and a river. We had found an oasis and our home for the day!
We set up our chairs and table and enjoyed our happy hour. We went over and met our host Ron and Darla and heard their stories about their full-time RV life. It was fascinating! “Full timers” have so many stories and are a wealth of knowledge and both Ron and Darla offered us advice on a variety of topices. Our time with them was invaluable and we appreciated them so very much.
From here we went to Jerome where we were to connect with our friends from home. This would change our travels but we looked forward to the new adventures this would bring us. First, we were going to golf at the Blue Lakes Country Club Golf Course. This was a new adventure for me. It was a stunning course and easy to be distracted by the course design. I an sure a score of 133 isn’t that bad. We had dinner that night at the country club where we enjoyed ourselves immensely.
We had heard that there were some beautiful waterfalls in this area and so felt we should see them before moving on. Right in the middle of Idaho Falls are the Shoshone Falls. What a spectacular site! It is 212 feet tall and 900 feet wide and is one of the largest natural waterfalls in the United States. It is located on the Snake River and is a must see when in the area.
