As our trip unfolds, we have been excited to see and experience the beauty of things we have never seen before. Because we we were up in the Pacific Northwest and we have friends and family in the area we decided to make some stops along the way. We could imagine no better way to experience beauty than to be with them.
Our grand daughters wedding was the perfect way to begin our travels. She was so happy to share with us all in this wonderful celebration of life and love. It was so good to be with the both of them and experience their life if even for a short time. We are exited to have a our first grandson-in-law and look forward to spending time with the both of them.
Our dearest friends, Matt and Charity Johnson opened their hearts and home to us as we pulled in and parked in their driveway. We hooked ourselves up and were invited in and shared meals and time with their family. When I commented that I remember the day Micah was born seven years ago he reminded me he did too! It was gratifying to our hearts and soul to find comfort with these dear friends. Tom got a haircut and we were given a bag of freshly picked blueberries. It was hard when it came time to leave them.
We headed on over to visit with Tom’s brother Bob and his wife Carol who are RV experts. We parked in their backyard and they fed us tidbits of their knowledge. We also were introduced to a variety of dice and card games. Farkle anyone? It was wonderful to be with them. We spent a few days and after they fed us and packed us up with food and games we headed up to Whidbey Island.
The ride was long and beautiful and our beloved friends Casara and Cory Eliff and their family welcomed us. We ate dinner and visited with the children and than stayed up as long as we could chatting. I think I have known Casara half of her life and my heart swelled when I saw what a wonderful mother and woman she has become. They packed us up with treasures and away we went. It was hard to leave but we carry them with us always.
We decided to meet our daughter Crystal and April in Leavenworth, Washington for lunch. Leavenworth is located between Seattle and Spokane and is a beautiful Bavarian village nestled in the Cascade Mountains. We stopped for beer and a braut and then headed on over to Chelan where we stayed for a few days. Crystal gave us a tour of a new winery in her area and we enjoyed an afternoon of warm sun, good wine and delightful conversations.
We have decided that there is nothing more beautiful than the love of family and good friends. Our cup runneth over and we will always treasure this part of our journey.
Carpe Diem!
