Look with favor. These are the words to one of my favorite songs and I have found my self humming this song during our travels. I feel as if these last few weeks have been filled with unprecedented favor. As novice RV’ers we set out with a few destinations on our list. We wanted to spend time with friends and family and the rest we were just going to see where we felt led to go. It never crossed our minds that some people had made reservations a year in advance and that Labor Day weekend is a big RV weekend. Additionally, we understand with the Covid restrictions on travel a lot of people are out on the road these days.

After Coeur d’Alene we decided to head on over to Montana. We spoke with our camp host and over the course of our conversation she mentioned that she loved the Flat Head Lake area. So, that is where we decided to go. It was the Friday before Labor Day weekend and I gave a call to a lovely place on the lake. As soon as Fran picked up the phone and I began to speak I started to laugh. “Fran,” I said, “any chance you might have an opening today for us to stay with you today?” Then she laughed. Then she said, interestingly enough that she had just gotten a cancellation and that we were welcome to stay the night. We had hoped for a couple of nights but she said she would let us know if any other cancellations occurred. Needless to say, we did get our additional nights and enjoyed a fabulous weekend at Flat Head Lake.

We had a lovely time in this area. We hiked along the lake and in the hills behind us. We could walk into town to the local brewery and enjoy a lovely dinner on the river. The weather was perfect. For me, one of the best parts of our stay was getting to know Fran our camp host. Anyone who could laugh so freely at my request and then work so hard to help us is definetly a Godsend!

We will spend some time in this region of northern Montana. Not quite sure where we will end up next but rest assured we will be just fine!
