Scrub Island

20190429_213531Just when I thought our travels could not get any more decadent we decided to dock on the marina at Scrub Island. This marina looks like a resort! It is our friend Tara’s birthday so tonight we will dress up and celebrate in one of the best restaurants on the Island.

It is said that Christopher Columbus discovered these Islands on his second voyage in 1493.  This group of Islands is known as the Lesser Antilles. It remained relatively untouched until pirates and buccaneers used this island as a haven. The pirates life has certainly given this area its  history and as the locals would say, a part of their heritage.

There are many forms of beauty and by nature I am inclined to the natural splendors of life. The aquamarine and sapphire seas with its’ diamond peaks as we glide across it always takes my breath away. The sun as it rises and sets and changes the color of everything within its reach excites me each and every time it happens! I will stop everything to watch this daily ritual. Clouds that billow into the most beautiful arrangements  capture my attention and reminds me of the depth of my Creator. I am also finding comfort in the beauty of ease that has enveloped me these last few days. The slow rocking of the boat sailing across glassy waters, a cup of coffee with the wind in my hair and the sun on my back and a glass of wine as the sun dips into the horizon settles my soul. I know all is right with the world in these moments. I am also enjoying the beauty of fun and friendship with our traveling companions.
